The chasen is the traditional bamboo whisk used in the Japanese tea ceremony to prepare matcha. Carved from a single piece of bamboo, each JAKU. whisk is split into 100 fine prongs creating a smooth and creamy microfoam for your daily matcha or houjicha moment.

How to Use

• Soak the tips in warm water for 10–20 seconds to soften
  • Important: For first use after purchase soak up to 5 minutes
• Add sifted matcha and ~80 °C water to a bowl
• Whisk briskly in a zig-zag (“M”) motion until a micro-foam appears

Care Guide

• Rinse under warm running water right after use; no soap is needed
• Shake off excess water and let the whisk airdry with the prongs facing downward, ideally on a whisk stand to keep shape
• Avoid dishwashers and prolonged soaking
